Welcome to the VUW Teaching and Learning Electronic Mailing List, operated by the UTDC, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Please feel free to share information about the Teaching and Learning list with others who may be interested in our dialogue.

Purposes

The purposes of the list are:

• To foster critical reflection and research on teaching and learning
• To provide support, services, and resources to VUW teaching staff
• To encourage interaction, communication, networking, and dialogue between and among VUW staff
• To share ideas, resources, failures, triumphs, concerns, cautions, news, hints, tips, and references on teaching and learning
• To support and encourage each other in our teaching and learning endeavours.

Netiquette

Adherence to a number of procedures commonly referred to as "netiquette" will enhance the use of the Teaching and Learning Mailing List, and we urge you to a) carefully review these recommendations and abide by them as much as possible, and b) let us know if there are other areas you would like covered in our "netiquette" expectations.

1. When you post a message to this list, indicate your topic in the subject line.
2. Include your full name, school/department and phone extension at the end of your posting, so that people may contact you directly if they wish.
3. Should you post a query to the list, offer to compile the responses and post a summary to the list. This will avoid lots of "please send me the results" postings.
4. Please do not use an automatic confirmation feature if your electronic mail system has this option, as these confirmations are posted to the entire list, cluttering it up and wasting time.
