Copyright Resources
This page contains resources to assist you in reducing the risk of copyright violations in your teaching practice. If you have any questions feel free to contact Stephen Marshall (stephen.marshall@vuw.ac.nz, x5205), questions that relate to using particular materials under the terms of the VUW licences should be directed to Brian Mckeon (brian.mckeon@vuw.ac.nz).
Introduction to copyrightCopyright and intellectual property laws and contracts present a significant challenge to TEOs and staff engaged in e-learning development and delivery particularly in New Zealand. The e-Learning Guidelines Project has resulted in the creation of an information resource for academics and their managers. This resource includes an overview of copyright law and concepts for educators, a series of faqs for academics and guidance for managers considering policy implications. These resources are licensed with the creative commons and can be freely adapted by institutions as needed. Please note that the current version's stylesheet is not compatible with Internet Explorer. An updated version will be available shortly. Workshop filesThese are copies of the files used in the UTDC Copyright Workshop. Please note, these are provided for personal information purposes only.
LicencesThe University and Copyright Licensing Limited (CLL) have negotiated a license that covers the use of material sourced from paper. The following newsletter covers the general details of the licence. Al works provided to students (other than via Blackboard) under this license must display the following notice: Copyright Warning Notice
