Blackboard Tutorials: Add a Packaged Archive File
To attach a .zip archive, for example an archive of a Web site, to a Blackboard
item:
- Click the Control Panel button
- From the Content Areas section, choose the area where you wish to
add an item (e.g., Course Documents)
- Click Add Item
- In the Name field, select "Other -- Add Text Below."
- In the field "Specify your own name", type the document title.
- The content will be in the attached file, but you may still want to use
the Text field to enter a brief description of the file you are attaching.
- In the Content Attachments part of the screen, click the
Browse button and locate the .zip file you want to attach
- You can type the name of the link in the Name of Link to File area,
if you want it to be different from the actual name of the file (e.g. Lecture
1 ). The Name of Link to File becomes the linked text that the
user clicks on to open the file.
- Under the Special Action option select "Unpackage this file."

- Scroll down to the bottom of this form and Click Submit.
- This brings up a new form, File Options, which required
you to specify the 'entry point for package link'.
- Select the entry .html file of your Web site. If this is
a Web version of a PowerPoint presentation, select the first .htm or .html
file in the list.
- Click Submit. A receipt will indicate the successful submission.
