Blackboard Tutorials: Add an Image File
This tutorial assumes that you already have the image as a file on your computer.
- Click on the Control Panel button in the navigation frame of your course
Web site.
- Go to the "Content Areas" section and select the area that you
wish to contain the file.
- Use buttons running along the top under the horizontal bar either to add
the image directly to this level ("Add Item") or to create a folder
that will contain the item ("Add Folder").
- To add the image at this level, click on the "Add Item" button.
- Complete the details in the form that loads: in Section 1, Content Information,
specify the name of the item, provide its description or additional information,
in the Text field.
- Section 2 of the form lets you attach a file, such as your image, and display
it as part of the Web page.
- Click on the "Browse" button in section 2 and select the file
containing the image you want to attach from your hard drive.
- Click on the menu labelled "Special Action" (it will say "Create
a link to this file" by default) and choose the option titled "Display
media file within the page".
- Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page, and then
"OK" to confirm your action.
- In the File Options screen that comes up, choose the display and positioning
options, provide an alternate text for this image and then click "Submit".
- Click "OK" when the next screen with your imbedded image comes
up. This will take you back to the content area where you started from.
