Blackboard Tutorials: Archive a course
This is a good way of ensuring that you have a back up copy of your Blackboard
course.
When you archive a course, you do not remove it from the system, but simply create
a .zip file of the course, which you can then upload back into Blackboard, as
you need.
To archive a course:
- Open the Control Panel of the course.
- Click on the Archive Course link under Course Options.
- Click on the Archive button.
- Click Submit.
- A receipt page comes up that says "This action has been successfully queued. An email will be sent when the process is complete." Click OK. Wait for the email notification and then go back to the course site in Blackboard.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 above. You will now see a link to the course archive you have created which includes the name of the course and the date and time when this archive was created. To download the archive, right-click (or control-click on a Mac) on the link and select "Save Link As...".
- This action will download a .zip archive to the Internet downloads folder
on your computer.
